CIT-NJ is offering a 8hr course for Telecommunicators April 11, 2025 in Hudson County, NJ. This is approved by CIT staff & the State of NJ 9-1-1 Office of Emergency Telecommunications for 8 CTE’S.

The course is an effort to improve collaboration within the CIT-NJ program and build partnerships with police, mental health, & family members who’s loved one experiences a mental health crisis. COST is $100

This course will give a Telecommunicators the essential tools and education needed to help a caller in crisis or that may have a mental illness or disability.

After this course you will have a better understanding of how to handle crisis situations and be able to decipher a call and the caller’s needs by knowing the correct questions to ask and how to best communicate with first responders, and mental health professionals and families/individuals in crisis.
